About

Myers Media is the company of Bob Myers—technologist, author, and creator.

Bob is a computer scientist by training whose career has moved among technology, language, and management. Most recently he completed a five-year stint as a software engineer at Google, where he worked on the software that presents YouTube on televisions, an environment with extraordinary requirements for pixel-perfection and performance. Earlier roles included staff engineer at ICE Mortgage Technology, where he architected a web component-centric rebuild of a major CRM platform, and years of senior consulting engagements for clients around the globe.

He is an insatiably curious lifelong learner with a strong multicultural perspective, having lived and worked in both Asia and Europe. He studied computer science as a foreign research scholar at The University of Tokyo under Dr. Ken Sakamura, where his research topics included the geometry of Sino-Japanese characters, and holds a BS in Mathematics of Computation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He holds two US patents and has passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at its highest level (N1).

As an author, he has published a childhood memoir, a translation of works by the medieval Japanese Zen teacher Dōgen, and a book of essays on India. Myers Media is his vehicle for creating and sharing experiences that embody his core insights in the fields of language, learning, and technology.

Bob lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
